All FAIR supporters will have been saddened by news of the recent death of Angela Thorne. Miss Thorne, best-known for her role as Marjory Frobisher in the much-loved television comedy 'To the Manor Born', was a comic actress of considerable distinction, whose talents nevertheless extended beyond small-screen comedy: she was an accomplished stage actress. She was also a woman of luminous charm, delightful and engaging, a sensitive, thoughtful and kind friend. In recent years she repeatedly read at the annual FAIR charity carol service, an event organised by FAIR founders Alexandra Bould and Grainne Dennison, and her contributions - from the gardening reflections of Elizabeth von Arnim to Queen Victoria's Journals - were invariably a highlight. All members of the FAIR community will continue to cherish the fondest memories of a remarkable actress and friend, and remain in Miss Thorne's debt.
